Shoring of Masonry for Lintel Installation

We are designing shoring for a project that involves placing a large opening in an exisitng masonry wall. Are "needle beams" placed at 4'-0" +- adequate or do I need to add channels on each side of the wall bolted through the wall to hold it together. The needle beams will bear on a support beam that will support the wall but some in our office think we need the channels to hold everything together.

Beyond the numbers, you need to visually inspect the existing wall. A weak bonded wall such as old brick composite walls or clay tile may be problematic. 字串8
Irregardless of the method employed, some cracking or dislodging of masonry should be expected.
If needling is used,specify a beam that will limit vertical deflection so that cracking above the needles can be minimized.
